Firmly on the tourist trail in Madeira, Portugal (and quite rightly so) is the Jardim Tropical Monte Palace. Open since 1991, it sits high up on the mountain above Funchal. It is a botanical garden with various levels and glorious exotic planting.
The garden is full of interesting features as well as plants. This includes Japanese gardens, Buddhist and Chinese features, waterfalls, fountains and more.
