The harbour of Sil. The harbour of De Cocksdorp (Texel) was the home harbour of the post boat which went to the Posthuys. When this boat stopped working the harbour fell into disrepair. In the 1980s and 1990s, beachcomber and shipowner Sil Boon - after whom the harbour is named - restored the northern jetty. At high tide the jetty is flooded. This black-and-white photograph emphasizes the rugged textures of weathered wood and rusted iron.
