Jökulsárlón is the most famous and largest glacial lake in Iceland. It is located south of the Vatnajökull glacier between the national park Skaftafell and the town of Höfn. The glacial lake is relatively new, as it was only created by melting ice in the years 1934-1935.
On the day of my visit, the weather was pleasant and you could enjoy a cup of coffee and a tasty cake on the shore while the ice floes floated by and seals swam by.
