About ‘Jungle Dance’ by Joan Engels

Cut-out art is an art form in which figures or patterns are cut out of materials such as paper, card or canvas to form compositions. It ranges from traditional folk art to Henri Matisse’s famous modern ‘ "tekenen met een schaar" ’ technique
This ‘Jungle Dance’ is a beautifully graceful silhouette surrounded by palm-like leaves
‘Jungle Dance’ symbolises the ultimate state of harmony, innocence and peace between humankind and nature – a naked dance as a spiritual experience on the wet grass of a dreamy and lush garden.

This is a classic example of ‘less is more’. A beautiful, clean and calm composition that also features a 3D-like sense of space. The calm colours and graphic effect ensure that the artwork is a striking eye-catcher in even the most minimalist interiors. The colour scheme of olive green and burgundy is subtle and chic.

I begin almost all my works by hand with a sketch, and in this case I then went on to draw over it digitally using vectors. This artwork has therefore been largely ‘painted’ digitally All images are digitally retouched for reproduction by Werk aan de muur

Joan Engels is an artist but has also worked for 30 years as an illustrator/graphic designer for various publishers.
I am more picture maker and less talk maker
And where some like to read or write for relaxation I draw or paint....
I make a lot of commercial illustrations for my work but in my spare time, I enjoy creating real art more.
In my painting style, I like to choose evocative multi-colour use of colour and whimsical or just stylised lines.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
