Kurt Schwitters (1887-1948) was a German artist best known for his collages and assemblages. He is considered a pioneer of Dadaism and later Constructivism, but developed his own style, which he called "Merz". Schwitters created artworks from found materials such as paper, metal, wood and everyday objects, which he integrated into abstract compositions. His most famous work is the "Merzbau", a walk-in sculpture created in his house.
