This is my dog, Jip, a black labrador retriever dog and 2 years old. It is a sweet happy dog. The picture tends to be low key.
He seems an accomplished model, but it took a while before I had his full attention.
Labrador retriever or simply Labrador is a breed of dog originating in Newfoundland and Labrador, and descended from the St. Johns dog. From this breed from mid-19th century England, crossed with other breeds, such as the Gordon setter, the Spaniel, Flat-Coated Retriever and the Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
The St. Johns dog was the Eskimos used for fishing, the Labrador Retriever was bred specifically for duck hunting and hunting in marshy areas. The retriever has even webbed toes.
The coat of the Labrador is short and thick with a waterproof undercoat and needs little care. The Labrador Retriever comes in the colors black, blonde, ranging from creamy white to red foxes (also called fox), and brown. In the early history of this breed were the predominantly black labradors; blond also occurred, but to a much lesser extent. In the 70's the blonde color became really popular. Brown was seen as a "mistake" and was only many years later as raskenmerkend added to the breed standard. Height of males is 55 to 57 inches and that of females is 54 to 56 inches.
