This interpretation of my photo of the Lagavulin distillery feels almost like a memory. In the foreground, small yellow flowers bloom among the rough grass, a gentle contrast to the white walls and dark roofs of the distillery beyond. The composition is simple but full of atmosphere, with that typical combination of light, stillness and space that touches me so much about the Scottish coast. The picturesque editing gives the image a dreamy tone, as if you stand still for a moment and take in the landscape. For me, this is an image of tranquillity, of craft and nature coming together. For me as a photographer and lover of whisky and landscape, this has become a special work, in which everything makes sense.
