The moorland area of Duurswoude contains a number of lakes that are remnants of the last ice age. These lakes have steep embankments, overgrown with grasses and reeds. Because these ramparts are so steep and the water next to them is deep, a beautiful reflection of light can be seen on the tops of the reeds, making the lakes look like double lined with gold.
Because the grass and trees give a lot of contrast in the image, it is easy to see the distances in this area. It makes for an interesting photo with a lot of depth. The colour of the reeds is gold, while the sky contrasts nicely with its light blue hue.
Ever since I was young, I have been involved in photography a lot, partly thanks to my grandfather. He was always taking photos himself and he gave me my very first compact camera. After practising a lot with the compact camera, I switched to more serious work.. Read more…
