I didn’t plan to stop here. I was actually on my way to somewhere else when this view caught me completely off guard. The light had just started to shift into that soft, moody palette that only seems to exist for a few fleeting minutes at the end of the day. The sky had this pastel wash—purples melting into warm peach and apricot tones. I liked how the winding road cut through the rolling hills like a quiet invitation, guiding the eye deep into the layered landscape.
I framed the shot to let the foreground trees give some weight to the bottom edge and push the viewer forward, toward the glowing horizon. The rows of cypress trees added that familiar Tuscan rhythm, while the distant hills faded into layers of bluish mist. The soft, even light helped preserve detail in the shadows without blowing out the sky. It wasn’t a dramatic sunset, but something quieter. And for me, that felt just right.
