Here we look out over the Quiraing on Isle of Skye, Scotland, during a beautiful sunrise. It was a quiet day in early spring. The road was deserted. The clouds break open to let the sun and blue sky through. The only sign of life, barely perceptible, are the sheep , the white dots, in the valley to the right of the road.
The grass-covered piece of rock in the middle of the picture casts a nice shadow across the slope, thanks to the newly rising sun. This shadow points in the direction of where this broken-off piece once came from. Like a young adult broken loose from its parents, but still close by.
The rustic landscape has a somewhat prehistoric feel to it and at the same time exudes the serenity of hidden secrets that lie undiscovered beneath the surface. At the same time, this landscape also feels not necessarily Scottish, but also a little American. A picture to dream away at, to fantasise about your next trip.
