This work was created from a childhood photo. Here I am with my mother on a deserted road practising walking. The photo was taken in the Beemster polder. The painting breathes the memory of a long time in the past. No buildings, no cars's, no asphalt, no pylons or windmills, not even lampposts.... The time of Wim Sonneveld (obviously for those who still remember him...) with the song Het Dorp.
