I started taking photographs in the summer of 1988. With a borrowed camera, I went in search of a motif in my home town and the first thing I photographed was a manhole cover. At the time, I had no idea that this would be the first image in a very diverse series of manhole cover photographs. Exhibitions of these works eventually led to the first photo commissions.
