This artwork shows a moment of human intimacy and tenderness in the midst of green nature. It is about the human connection between all people, regardless of gender. In support of this message, one of the models is a transgender person. It is also about the human connection to nature itself, which provides the space and chemistry to feel tenderness, closeness and emotional and physical attraction. The light in this captured moment comes from natural sunlight. The German word "Lichtung" refers to a clearing in the forest where sparser trees let in more light. "Licht" is "clearing" in German, so the title was deliberately chosen with a double meaning: to bring more light and awareness into human relationships as well as the world at large, and to create more moments of peace like this one.
