About ‘Lightning at World Heritage Site Kinderdijk’ by Marjan van der Heijden

World Heritage Site Kinderdijk is a beautiful location for hiking and biking. You can also view the windmills from the water. They are also a favorite object for photographers. And when it thundershowers during the lighting week in September, it's especially great to capture the lightning behind beautiful windmills.

I came for the illuminated mills, and of course I took those photos. But the photo with lightning is really special.

With my camera on a tripod, a slower shutter speed and focused on the largest mill, I was able to capture lightning in two places simultaneously.
I set out that day from a completely different side of the country to take pictures of Kinderdijk and when you are then treated with such weather conditions, I don't call that luck, but a cherry on top. It simply had to be so.

With this photo on the wall you realize every time again that nature is always dominating. As humans, our job is to cherish that nature and enjoy those special moments.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
