I took this photo in Blåvand which is the westernmost point in Denmark and a real attraction for birds. I had actually come here to photograph birds too, but when, at low tide in the late afternoon, I spotted a seal lying alone on a sandbar separate from a larger group, I took off my socks and shoes, rolled up my trousers and walked quickly through the rising tide to take this photo quickly. As I lay on my belly in the wet sand at a respectable distance, the seal really made eye contact with me which made this photo(s) and this moment so beautiful and something to remember.
