About ‘ME AND MY PAL’ by db Waterman

This artwork tells of a little girl walking on the beach and discovering her own shadow. She thinks it is her new friend.

I remember as a young girl I loved cutting pictures out of magazines to stick on my school diaries, books and even my bedroom door. Add to that the fascination I always had with walls with old posters, peeling paint, shoddy billboards and weathered paint. Completely unintentionally, I found a new way of working in which I feel comfortable and comfortable. What started as copying old walls with worn posters has grown into a large number of series with new visual stories. Not just eclecticism, but bringing together many seemingly disjointed storylines into a whole new story, my own personal story. Initially, there was one thing missing that is very important to me; the transparency that is normally only possible when using watercolour. The incessant layering of transparent watercolour is a challenge I did not want to miss, and after much trial and error, I finally succeeded in making the collages as transparent as a watercolour. Every layer of paper, oil, acrylic, pencil, crayon, biros, watercolour, ink, charcoal and everything else I use remains visible in the artwork. I spent my formative years as an artist at the Art Academy in Den Bosch. Nowadays, I consider myself self-taught and have developed my own style from the unconventional medium of collage.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
