This dreamlike maritime landscape shot was taken during my photo and Easter trip to the unique east coast of the island of Sicily in southern Italy in the morning hours of 17 April 2012. The image motif was photographed with my Nikon D90.
A kilometre-long coastline with a dynamic, rocky coastline and unique, clean sea water meanders along the bay of Taormina.
Located in the shadow of the seething volcano Etna, eastern Sicily is a land full of fire and emotion.
Enchanting beaches, magnificent natural landscapes, delicious local specialities and interesting towns come together here.
Definitely one of the most interesting areas of the sunny island.
