This dynamic nature photograph shows the magical, dreamlike and globally popular beach in the former small fishing village of Giardini Naxos on the east coast of the island of Sicily.
The image was taken during my Easter trip in the spring-like month of April 2017 with the Nikon D90.
The strong, fresh swell on the turquoise-coloured sea with its wide sandy beach lends the motif the character of confidence, strength and willpower.
It is ideal for all bathrooms and toilets, but can also be used in offices as an incentive for creative realisation.
The beach at Giardini Naxos is one of the most important and most popular seaside resorts in the whole of Sicily. It stretches for around 4 kilometres south of Taormina, from Capo Schisò to Capo Taormina. Along the coast, freely accessible beaches alternate with beaches with beach facilities. There are different sandy beaches depending on the stretch of coast.
In the area south of Recanati, you will find partly sandy coasts and partly pebble beaches. Heading north, you will come across Schisò beach, which is very popular with tourists in summer, consists of fine golden sand and is surrounded by green Mediterranean scrub. Immediately afterwards is the beach of San Giovanni, which is made up of fine, grey sand. Finally, you come to the beach of Porticciolo Saja, an area where you will find various sandy coves between fascinating lava rocks. The sea at Giardini Naxos is clean and azure blue and boasts transparency.
