Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘Melancholy in blue and gold’ by Frank Heinz

This intriguing image captures a scene of deep, almost meditative calm, where blurred shapes and gentle colour transitions create an ethereal landscape. The upper part of the painting is dominated by a vast, misty sky, coloured in various shades of soft purple and blue, evoking an atmosphere of stillness and perhaps melancholy. The horizon is softly drawn, making the separation between sky and earth appear fluid and unreal.

Suggested hills or waves rise in the middle ground, their contours deliberately blurred to subtly convey movement or the effect of light and shadow. These darker forms stand out against the lighter sky and create an effect of depth that draws the viewer into the scene. The lower part of the picture is crossed by a horizontal strip of shimmering gold light that stretches across the entire width of the picture like a river or a sunlit beach. This glow forms a strong contrast to the cooler blue tones above it and lends the picture a certain warmth and hope. It seems as if the light is either radiating out of the picture or leading the way through the darkness. The overall composition is minimalist and abstract, leaving room for personal interpretation and emphasising emotions rather than concrete objects. It is a play of light, shadow and colour that captures the fleeting beauty of a moment.
