About the artwork

The Lagenwaardse Molen (formerly the Bosmolen) is a windmill on the Batelaan in Koudekerk aan den Rijn in the Dutch municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn. The mill was built for the purpose of draining the Bospolder in Leiderdorp. The upper house was renewed in 1836. In 1927, the scoop wheel was replaced by a screw pump and the sails were semi-covered. In 1955, a diesel pumping station was built that made the mill redundant. The Bosmolen became the property of the municipality of Leiderdorp in 1963, which had it restored. During this restoration, the sails were raised back to the old Dutch style.

On the spot where the Bosmolen stood is now the entrance to the Green Heart tunnel of the HSL-Zuid. The Bosmolen could not remain standing and was removed on 9 December 2002, to be put into use at its current location as Lagenwaard Mill on 27 March 2004. A mill previously stood on this site; the miller's house next to it is new but built in the old style.

The Lagenwaardse Molen has been owned by Rijnlandse Molenstichting since 2004. The mill, now equipped with an auger and designated as a reserve pumping station, can be visited whenever it is running.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
