Istanbul's Aya Sofia is one of those places where history and architecture come together in a way you won't soon forget. In this photo, the golden morning light is captured by the imposing dome and ornate windows. What fascinated me about this moment was the interplay of light, colour and shadow: the ancient details come to life and each corner tells its own story.
My inspiration for this shot came from the serenity you feel when walking around the Aya Sofia. Despite the bustle outside, there is a special peace inside. You experience the grandeur of the building and its rich history, dating back to the Byzantine and Ottoman eras. The combination of soft light, high vaults and beautiful decorations almost made me feel like I was taking a trip back in time.
