Chefchouen, also known as the blue city. Why this colour was implemented throughout the city is not really clear. It is possible that the city owes its colour to the arrival of the many Jewish refugees in 1930. Blue is an important colour for them. Another theory is that the blue colour kept the houses cooler during the hot summers or that it would keep the insects away. Either way, a city not to be missed on a tour of Morocco.
