About ‘Morro Rock at a warm-coloured sunset – dynamic’ by Lichtveld

Morro Rock: A remarkable volcanic rock on the west coast of America. Morro Bay is a special place, where this rock gives the area an iconic appearance and serves as a bird sanctuary. The beaches adjacent to the rock are popular and always busy, which is why I opted for a long exposure. In this image, I chose to capture the presence of people and the power of the waves in a dynamic way: the longer shutter speed creates a sense of movement, both in the waves and through the blurring of the people in the frame.

By placing the rock in the centre of the frame and opting for a slightly longer shutter speed, a powerful image is created, in which the rock exudes tranquillity. The dynamism in the flow of the waves draws the eye to the rock, and the warm glow of the sunset completes the scene. The tranquil image is deceptive: capturing this shot required a battle against the elements. I took several photo's, many of which were discarded because the strong waves caused my camera to slip (I was standing knee-deep in the water). When you do manage to get the shot, the sense of satisfaction is all the greater!

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
