About ‘My Love’ by Nicolaas Ranzijn

An intimate portrait in which tenderness and memory merge. With a free, almost transparent brushstroke, Nicolaas Ranzijn captures not only the facial features of his muse, but above all her presence. The gentle gaze, subtle contours and light colours lend the work a tranquil, almost dreamlike quality.

Composed of transparent layers of paint, loose brushstrokes and refined linear accents, the portrait moves between figuration and abstraction. Some parts dissolve into the paper, whilst others stand out sharply. The result is a painting that not only depicts a face, but also evokes a feeling. Nicolaas Ranzijn (1928–2003) was an artist from Alkmaar. He produced a diverse body of work comprising paintings and other visual artworks, and exhibited his work. His expressive style, free brushwork and distinctive use of colour mean that his work remains instantly recognisable and timeless.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
