The Crezéepolder (50 hectares) is a tidal nature reserve of Zuid-Hollands Landschap adjacent to the Noord River between Ridderkerk and Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. Until the summer dike was breached in 2016, it was in use as an agricultural area. Gullies were dug, and since then the water of tidal river the Noord has been causing changing tides in the Crezéepolder: at low tide the mudflats come dry and at high tide the gullies and creeks fill with fresh water. The difference in height between ebb and flood is almost one meter. The photo, taken on a cloudy day in late summer, shows the developing nature up close. The little yellow flowers in the foreground are flowering Heel Leaves (Pulicaria dysenterica).
