Nemo fish @ Komodo, Indonesia by Travel Tips and Stories

The ‘Nemo fish’ (the true clownfish or anemonefish) is officially known in Dutch as the three-banded anemonefish (Amphiprion ocellaris). This popular bright orange fish with white stripes lives in symbiosis with poisonous sea anemones in the coral reefs of the Indian Ocean, including those in Indonesia.

Where can you find Nemo in Indonesia?
You can encounter these fish in the wild whilst snorkelling or diving. Some of the best hotspots in Indonesia are:
Komodo National Park: The coral reefs here, such as at Tatawa Kecil, are teeming with clownfish and other marine life.
Raja Ampat: Known for having the greatest biodiversity in the world; you’re guaranteed to find Nemos here.
Bunaken (Sulawesi) & Gili Islands (near Lombok): Popular and accessible locations where clownfish are common.
Want to go looking for Nemo yourself?
Fortunately, the fish can still be admired in abundance in the wild, but the coral ecosystem is fragile. Would you like to book a boat trip or diving excursion in, for example, Komodo National Park?
If you tell me which specific islands you’re visiting in Indonesia (e.g. Bali, Flores, or Lombok), I can give you specific tips on local and reliable diving or snorkelling organisations!
