This urban night shot was taken on the banks of the Berlin Spree in the autumnal night lights on 4 October 2015 in the late evening hours with the NIKON D90 camera (lens: SIGMA 18.0-50.0 mm f/2.8).
The architectural city motif was captured with the technical help of a photo tripod.
The glowing blue night motif was created during the Festival of Lights.
With the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, the city becomes a luminous stage and the landmarks, buildings, streets and squares become the stars. We tell stories in countless light images, present cultures and arts, convey messages and focus on special, unique or hidden things.
Every year in October, Berlin becomes a city of light art. The light displays on landmarks, monuments, buildings and squares make the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS one of the most elaborate and popular light art festivals in the world.
Together with us, national and international artists transform the capital into a large, illuminated stage. We tell stories with countless light images, draw attention to the hidden, present cultures, arts and artists and convey themes and messages. We also stage Berlin neighbourhoods and entire districts during the Berlin Light Weeks!
The original idea was to brighten up the dreary autumn days with colourful light and beautiful building illuminations and to create an additional incentive for visitors to Berlin.
Since then, the idea of the artistic symbiosis of light and art has travelled the world and become a movement. Sofia, Zagreb, Augsburg, New York, Amsterdam... every year, the events bring a smile to the hearts of millions of people.
Light connects people and places. Light awakens emotions and lifts our spirits. Light builds bridges. Across borders and continents. Light speaks all languages.
