This work shows a fjord with sandy beach in winter. In the foreground we see the beach. It is low tide and in the sand we see beautiful flow patterns created by retreating seawater when the tide went out. The mountains surrounding the fjord are covered in snow. The sky is dark and threatening, providing a nice contrast to the light snow on the mountains. This work is a colour photograph, but apart from the cool blues of the mountains and sea water, almost no colour is present. The photo therefore gives a cool monochrome impression: typical of winter in the far north. The photo was taken on the island of Senja in northern Norway
