On the Veluwe, right next to Ermelo, lies the Speulderbos. Also known as the forest with the dancing trees. Therefore, in this forest you can find mainly crooked trees that sometimes even seem to grow in a curve. This is the result of cutting down only the straight trees that people used to need for building their houses and stables. Nevertheless, there are also beautiful straight trees and when they stand together in a group it gives a beautiful result in the photo. For me it was the first time I walked in the speulderbos and I can definitely recommend the trail. According to the signs you walk 8.5 km but somehow I walked the route in 10 km. Probably because I walked back and forth so many times to take a picture or to enjoy the beautiful nature. Don't forget to make a stop at the sheepfold, you can get coffee, tea and soft drinks and the pastries are also highly recommended.
