This watercolour painting of the Portuguese town of Obidos was recreated from a taken photograph.
In 2010, I took a nice road trip in western Portugal and visited this beautiful town.
The medieval and colourful fortified town of Obidos is located high on a hill in the Costa de Prata (Silver Coast) region.
The town is completely walled and within the sturdy crenellated city wall is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets. The small picturesque white houses are traditionally painted with blue and yellow borders. Red tiled roofs and balconies with many colourful flowers and climbing plants complete the colourful scene.
The original painting measures 30x40cm and is painted with watercolour (watercolour) on watercolour paper. The painting is copied from a home-made photo I captured on location.
The painting is photographed in high resolution and available as an Artprint on desired materials and sizes.
