This "Molino del Collado de los Genoveses" stands in a dry and desolate desert landscape next to San Jose in Almeria with beautiful descending footpath leading to the rugged coast with agave's like icons against the blue skies. At this location under blue skies with glorious sunshine, we took a circular walk to the water and then followed the tide line under the rocks until our way back. With the camera there and the many resting points, an almost day-filling and strenuous walk partly because of the scrambles over the rocks in the coastal strip to stay dry. Here and there we also had to seek height over the rocks because further along the waterline was simply not possible. Another old fortification on a peninsula, in the natural stone underground around that fort plenty of fossils in the stones. Truly a dream hike that we look back on with great pleasure and have posted some pictures of here. Should you be a hiker, come to Almeria, look for San Jose and set aside a day for it.
Sturdy walking shoes are an absolute must, don't forget bottle of water, is a must with those efforts. But it's well worth it.
