Heavy weather from the Atlantic flogs the coastal strip near Colares, Portugal.
Beautiful high lights caused by the position of the sun on the turbulent water make for a special atmosphere on and around the beach. Foam heads caused by the wild water chase across the wet sand. The sand partly black from lava erosion, partly lies yellow to orange in colour, from the material delivered from the ocean.
Clouds skim by under the blue sky, occasional heavy showers of rain make this day a wet one. Still, the images of this tempestuous day have a nice dramatic charge and provide an interesting display that captures the imagination of many. Not just any pretty picture, but one with a bit more charge, some resistance, some turbulence, it takes a bit of courage to go out on such a day anyway and enjoy the other side that nature brings us. Similarly, it takes courage to hang this Work on the Wall. Anyway, we had a lot of fun walking along the waterline during this tempestuous weather in Colares, small town located right on the coast in the municipality of Sintra, Portugal.
