Oosterbeek's old church is a unique piece of the Netherlands. Lying in Oosterbeek's floodplains near the river Rhine, this spot played an important role during Operation Market Garden in World War II.
In 2021 with high water and frost in February, the unique situation arose allowing skating on the floodplains of the Rosandepolder. The evenings were cold and beautiful and as a photographer it was possible to imitate an 'Old Master' but with a camera.
This unique photo also appeared in the book 'Nature Images' in 2023 (ISBN: 978-90-829194-1-7
