About ‘The Gate of Silence’ by Daan van Oort

This enchanting autumn photograph transports you to the heart of the De Oorsprong estate in Oosterbeek, a place where time seems to stand still for a moment. A narrow path, completely covered in a warm carpet of orange and reddish-brown leaves, draws the eye deep into the composition towards a white fence half-hidden in wisps of mist.
On either side, stately beech trees rise like the natural pillars of a cathedral. Their dark, moss-covered trunks exude a timeless strength, whilst the remaining leaves, in soft shades of yellow and green, still cling to the season. The light autumn mist enveloping the background lends the scene a dreamlike, almost magical quality — as if the path leads not to a fence, but to another world.
The soft, diffuse light filters through the bare treetops and bathes the whole scene in a serene, melancholic atmosphere. This is not a photograph; it is a feeling. The scent of damp earth, the soft crunch of leaves underfoot, the crisp autumn morning air.
A timeless piece that comes into its own beautifully as a large-format print, in both classic and modern interior styles.

Daan van Oort (1973) studied dental technics in Nieuwegein (the Netherlands) and finished school in 2000 winning the “van Hamond” award being the best of his year.

After 20 years of experience in dental techniques, giving education to technicians in The Netherlands, Belgium and Thailand and as general manager of the oldest dental technician lab in the Netherlands he now focuses on several projects in the Dental world.

In 2007 he finished his study photography…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
