On a walk in the woods near Belfeld in northern Limburg, I saw these beautiful yellow colours in an old oak tree. The sinuous shapes of the green-browned branches were also very pretty. I decided to capture only part of the tree and zoomed in with my telephoto lens. That way, I kept the sky out of view and it became a frame-filling tree. Nevertheless, I kept a piece of another tree to the left behind it in the frame. This was because it created more depth in the image, giving the oak a background. Overexposing made it almost a drawing instead of a photo. To get a high depth of field, I used a small aperture (high aperture number) and photographed from a tripod. Fortunately, it was windless so there was no movement in the leaves either. And so a piece of Limburg forest almost makes a Japanese impression. I think it will make a calming impression in an interior. Somehow, looking at it always calms me down and I wish others would too!
