Ameland is a dark sky park which means that in summer you can see the starry sky and thus the Milky Way very clearly. This photo was taken in August during a moonless night. I briefly illuminated the dunes in the foreground with a torch. You can see the southern part of the Milky Way, which is also the most beautiful part.
