Extremadura is a nature reserve in western Spain, bordering Portugal. In the north of it, you will find many holm oaks on dehesa's, say the savannahs of Extremadura. With my husband and our best friend, I always take a trip in spring and Extremadura has stolen our hearts. We were there for the fourth time now. Again in a new place, though, near Trujillo.
Here, one holm oak became the subject of the photo. I took four photos'in camera on top of each other, each time taking a pass to the left. This way, you get a dreamy image of the tree. The fifth photo, also taken in camera over each other, I took of the sea of white flowers covering the ground around the trees. As this was the last photo, the flowers cover the entire overall picture. The atmosphere and colours are reminiscent of the 19th-century French painter Claude Monet.
For an exhibition, I had the photo itself printed on alu-dibond in 70 x 50 cm and it is beautiful! Everyone in my photo clubs is enthusiastic. So I would like to make more people happy with it and decided to share this work on Werk aan de Muur. It will also look great on canvas, which might make it even more picturesque. But on dibond, as mentioned, it is also stunning.
