Part of a series of abstract street photography. I try to give the photo's an abstraction, where the street scene is recognisable but the people in the street scene are less conspicuous, but are an important part of this street scene. A touch of people combined striking colours, which initially makes you wonder 'what am I looking at'.
This photo which was taken on the platform in a train station shows that people on the move are often individuals when travelling with many other people. People sit at the same distance from each other as a matter of course. The only ones who seem to be travelling together are, again, a mother and child which may be travelling by train for the first time, being initiated into train travel by its mother. With excitement, the child looks forward to the arrival of the train. Holding your mother's hand so as not to lose her later when boarding but finally being on that train to have a nice trip.
Following a recent exhibition where this series of photos's were on display, these photos'll only be available as a limited edition with a maximum of 10 prints via Werk aan de Muur, so be quick.
