Monte Palace Tropical Gardens can be found in Madeira, Portugal. The gardens belong to a beautiful palace that was once a famous hotel in the 18th Century. The Palace is now a museum and the gardens are open to the public. The garden itself is large and on multi-levels with exotic trees, flowers and ponds all linked with pathways, and it is a big tourist attraction. Several areas follow themes and there are two oriental garden areas with red handrails and pagodas reminiscent of Japanese style. Here we see a group of tourists who have crossed over a walkway with red handrails.
