High above the shimmering water, an osprey circles, its eyes sharp as knife points. Below him, a fish breaks the surface of the water, and in a split second he dives. Claw by claw he closes around the floundering prey, the water splashing upwards in a silver rain.
With powerful wings he takes off, the fish firmly in his grip. His wings slice through the air, rhythmically, imperturbably, as if he is in control of everything he sees.
The fish flounders for a moment, but it is caught.
Then follows a straight line upwards, away from the noise of the world, to the silence of a high branch where the prey is consumed in peace.
