The Rathen area has been a much-loved area for artists and adventurers for over 200 years. From painters, draughtsmen and poets in the 1800s to sports climbers and photographers in the present day. The Basteibrücke is perhaps the most famous.
For me, being able to witness the view of the Bastei itself had been the reason for walking the Malerweg. This panorama was taken from Kleine Gans when an orange glow slowly disappears behind the rock formation at dusk.
Architecture and the (urban) landscape have fascinated me for a long time.
