Architecture and the (urban) landscape have fascinated me for a long time. After my studies in Architecture I started working at a construction consultancy and have been able to work on various beautiful and interesting projects. A project visit to one of these projects in 2016, the Spaarndammertunnel in Amsterdam, was a great opportunity for me to combine my passion for technology and photography. Looking back I can say that making this photo series were the first steps in my "ongoing" development as an architectural photographer.
For a designer of (civil) constructions, "reading" an architectural design, having an eye for detail and translating it into a form of reality are three important aspects. These aspects are also reflected in my photography. For this the ever changing light and the varied air are important natural sources that I like to use. These elements largely determine the representation of a building, the experience of a space, or the atmosphere of the landscape.
For me the challenge is to find the balance between taking the viewer into my creative and also realistic representation of the landscape or space, showing the function of a building or work of art and not least doing justice to the design of the architect.
In June 2019 I completed the vocational training at the Photo Academy.
