About the artwork

25.04.2025 - 12:04 NIKON D800 50.0 mm f/1.4

This dreamlike, maritime landscape shot was taken during my photo and Easter trip on the unique east coast of the island of Sicily in southern Italy in the midday hours on 25 April 2025. The motif is photographed with my Nikon D800 ( lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8 ).
The marvellous view shows a beautiful little island with a fantastic beach. This popular excursion destination is called ISOLA BELLA, and there is a nature reserve directly on the small island.
A kilometre-long coastline with a dynamic, rocky coastline and unique, clean and turquoise-coloured sea water winds its way along the bay of Taormina.
The natural motif shows a paradisiacal panorama over the vastness of the Ionian Sea, with the active volcano Etna raging in the hinterland on the right.

Located in the shadow of the seething volcano Etna, eastern Sicily is a land full of fire and emotion.
Enchanting beaches, magnificent natural landscapes, delicious local specialities and interesting cities come together here.
Definitely one of the most interesting areas of the sunny island.
