"Pastel soft pink and green: The heart of a Astrantia Major" is an (extreme) macro photo of a small part of an Astrantia Major (Zeeuws Knoopje). Because only a small part of this flower was photographed, natural abstraction takes place. With the naked eye, you can't see these "little flowers" (which in reality are not real flowers, but the heart of the Astrantia Major) as beautifully as in this photo. When making this photo, I chose to use a low focus, which creates a dreamy atmosphere, which I think suits this pastel-coloured scene perfectly. It also creates a sense of depth in the work. The stalks all fade more and more, the further they move away from the focal point. This work could hang beautifully in a waiting room, bedroom or study.
