About ‘Pico de las Nieves’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

The Pico de las Nieves is a mountain located in the Canary Islands.

It is the highest mountain on the island of Gran Canaria. It is 1949 meters high and lies in the middle of the island. The mountain is part of a volcanic rock formation.

The sky was so clear this evening that the Pico del Teide on Tenerife could be seen. This is the largest volcano on the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands.

With its 3718 meters above sea level and 7000 meters above the seabed, it is the highest mountain in Spain. In height from the seabed, the Teide is the third largest volcano in the world. This volcano is considered dormant, but new eruptions are not excluded.
