The Prinsenhof with its former St. Agatha convent is an historic site. From 1572 to 1584 Prince William of Orange regularly stayed at the St Agatha convent.
That is why it has been known as the 'Prinsenhof' ever since.
In 1584 he was murdered in the Prinsenhof by Balthasar Gerards. The bullet holes can still be seen in the wall where this happened. The monastery complex was fully restored between 1940 and 1951 to become 'Museum Prinsenhof'. In the background you can see the tower of the Old Church.
