Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘Pillars beneath the Santa Monica Pier’ by Retinas images

This atmospheric photograph shows the pillars of Santa Monica Pier, as seen from the beach in California. The sturdy pillars disappear into the sea and, together with the waves, form a rhythmic pattern. Thanks to the long exposure time, the water takes on a soft, almost flowing appearance, whilst the structure of the pier remains clear and striking in the image. The contrast between the fixed architecture and the constantly moving sea gives the photograph a calm, meditative atmosphere. The pier is a recognisable icon on the Santa Monica coast and symbolises relaxation, travel and the sense of freedom associated with the American west coast. At the same time, the image shows how humanity and nature meet on the coast: concrete and steel set against water, wind and the horizon. The understated composition makes this photograph versatile for use in any interior. As wall art, the piece fits beautifully into a modern, industrial, nautical or minimalist interior. It looks its best in the living room, bedroom, hall, bathroom, office or holiday home. A characterful image for lovers of California, seaside architecture, long exposure times and the atmosphere of the Pacific Coast.
