She came to life under my hands, layer by layer. I started with nothing - a blank canvas and an explosion of colour sense. No plan, just the desire to portray a powerful woman. First came the outlines of her face, then the eyes. Expressive peepers that stick with you. I worked quickly, intuitively, as if she were leading me instead of the other way around.
Her colours are anything but subtle: bright blue-green eye shadow, flaming red lips, pink cheeks and hair that dances between blue, black and gloss. A colourful ode to womanhood. Think: Warhol's Monroe, but with more guts and individuality. She is not a copy of a celebrity - she is the celebrity.
While painting, I felt her character emerge. Strong, stylish, a touch dramatic - but always with flair. Each brushstroke brought her closer. The final highlight in the whites of her eyes? The spark. Done.
