Photo of a portrait of a Scottish highlander cow in beautiful light. The cow is beautifully portrayed with the horns in view and standing relaxed.
The Scottish Highlander is the original cattle of the western highlands of Scotland and the Hebrides. Thanks in part to their thick coat, this breed of cattle is suitable for year-round use as large grazers. The animals are therefore frequently seen in nature and recreation areas in the Netherlands.
This photo of a portrait of a Scottish Highlander was taken on the Scharreveld near Westerbork in Drenthe, the Netherlands. The cow is relaxed looking around and ruminating a bit. For me an opportunity to take a nice portrait from a distance.
