This is my adaptation of a painting from ca. 1668 - ca. 1670, by southern Dutch painter Wallerant Vaillanet (1623-1677).
The portrait shows a young woman in the style of the Old Masters, dressed in a sumptuous satin dress, casting a serene and subdued gaze. Her head is crowned with an exuberant, colourful garland of flowers, a surrealist addition that provides a playful and lively contrast to the classical painting style.
