Supposedly painted at the academy of Dendermonde (Belgium) in the late 1980s.
Corrugated cardboard seems a somewhat strange substrate for this artwork. However, as some family members worked in a corrugated cardboard factory in Buggenhout (East Flanders - Belgium), Pieter could easily obtain large sheets of corrugated cardboard. He therefore made several works on this material.
Galerie Ringoot is a homage to the work of the Belgian painter Pieter Ringoot (1921 - 2011) and the Dutch illustrator, writer and painter Hans Sturris.
